Global Public Health and UN Sustainable Development Goals Research Scholarship Contest

Students are invited to apply for a scholarship in the form of an online Research Program led by Dr. Roger Worthington. This program will focus on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, one of Dr. Worthington’s areas of research expertise.

The winner of the 1st Prize will earn a full scholarship for a 1-on-1 Scholar Launch research program with Dr. Roger Worthington and a possible chance to continue with Dr Worthington as a research assistant for a period of 12 months after completion of the project.

Step 1: Download the application instructions.

Step 2: Submit required materials to slrpmanagement@scholarlaunch.org. Please make sure your email subject follow this format “Name+2024+SLContest”.

Prizes

1st prize

A full scholarship for a 1-on-1 Scholar Launch Research Program with Dr. Roger Worthington. The winner may also have the opportunity to continue with Dr. Worthington as a research assistant for a period of 12 months after completion of the project.

2nd prize

50% off for a Scholar Launch program in any field or format, subject to availability.

3rd prize

25% off for a Scholar Launch program in any field or format, subject to availability.

Note: discount from 2nd and 3rd prize can only be used once on Scholar Launch programs from June 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. The winners need to inform the Scholar Launch team with their decisions by April 30, 2024.

Eligibility

Students who are rising juniors, seniors, or pre-college gap year students are welcome to apply for the contest. This contest is open to students in any discipline.

About Dr. Worthington

Specializing in medical ethics and global health policy, Dr. Roger Worthington has lectured extensively and been significantly involved in medical education and professional development. He has held academic positions in the UK, honorary positions in Australia and the USA (at Yale University School of Medicine) and advisory roles with various public bodies. Based in the UK, he runs workshops for doctors in the NHS and mentors young scholars from around the world. He is an associate editor for BMC (Springer) Globalization and Health and has served on a number of editorial boards.
